Dr Philip Botha
Specialist Physician & Infectious Disease Specialist

Dr Philip Botha has been passionate about medicine from a young age. He completed his MBChB (cum laude) at Stellenbosch University in 1998 and went on to specialise in Internal Medicine, qualifying as a Specialist Physician in 2004. After gaining valuable international experience in Ireland, he returned to South Africa to pursue his subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases at Tygerberg Hospital, including five years in academic medicine.
Since 2015, Dr Botha has run a busy private practice at Mediclinic Cape Gate, managing both inpatients and outpatients. He has also been part of the Haemalife Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Netcare Kuilsriver Hospital since 2017. Known for his dedication, clinical curiosity, and thoughtful approach, he thrives on managing complex infections and challenging cases.

Practice Manager
Bronwyn is the practice manager and a qualified healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience in private practice, spanning both clinical and administrative roles. Exceptionally organised and empathetic, she ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and serves as a key link between patients, hospitals, medical aids, families, and other healthcare providers.
With her extensive experience, Bronwyn is uniquely equipped to manage the complexities of a busy subspecialist practice. Outside of work, she balances a lively household with two teenage children and numerous pets—and is always happy to chat about your beloved furry companions.
